Fraud Prevention Center - Removing Your Name from Marketing Lists

While many telemarketers and mail marketers are in fact legitimate, you may not want to receive the sales calls and mail catalogs or solicitations they provide. You may want to consider removing your name from the listings they utilize.

By removing your name from marketing lists, you may also decrease the risk of identity theft as you are less likely to provide your private information to those companies that are not so legitimate. To remove yourself from these lists, do the following:

• Do Not Call Registry
  Register your home phone number with the National Do Not Call registry at http://www.donotcall.gov or by phone at 1-888-382-1222.
  
  
• Credit Card Offers
  Opt out of pre-approved credit card mailings by calling 1-888-567-8688 (1-888-5-OPT-OUT)
  
  
• Marketing Lists
  Remove yourself from direct mail lists by writing to DMA Mail Preference Service, PO Box 643, Carmel NY 10512 or online at http://www.dmachoice.org
